The Birds and Bees Protection Act Passes!

Last year, nearly 1,000 advocates sent emails urging NYS Gov. Kathy Hochul to sign the Birds and Bees Protection Act. Governor Hochul signed the bill just before the year's end. The new law will prohibit the use of certain neonicotinoid (neonics) pesticides on any corn, soybean, and wheat seeds or their application to outdoor ornamental plants and turf. Neonics threaten the bees, birds, and other pollinators that are critical to New York State’s food security, agricultural economy, and environment.
